Home Visits

home visitsIf you are temporarily or permanently housebound and genuinely unable to visit the surgery, please telephone before 10.30am. Visits will usually be done approximately between 12.00 and 4.00pm.

Try to give the receptionist some idea of the problem, the doctor needs this information to plan his or her rounds and attend to the most urgent calls first and may ring back to clarify the request.

Please do not request an immediate visit unless you feel there is a real emergency because of the disruption this causes to surgeries. Remember that in the time it takes to visit you at home the doctor can see several patients in surgery.

In a dire emergency, DO NOT DELAY call the ambulance on 999 IMMEDIATELY Please note that this service is for patients who are too ill or infirm to attend the surgery and not for patients who have no transport.

When your child is ill

The vast majority of sick children can be safely seen in the surgery. A home visit is not usually necessary. It is often quicker for the child to be seen in the surgery, and Doctor will see the sick child as soon as he is free, with a minimum of waiting. If you are unsure if your child is fit to travel please telephone the surgery for advice.
